Concrete moisture, surface planarity, adhesives, new products, lack of training and the skilled labor shortages are quite possibly just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what many of us deal with on a daily basis. There is another Division 03 - Division 09 divide. The moisture released into the air by drying concrete can be detrimental to mineral fiber ceiling panels. Panel manufacturers advise against installing panels until concrete is 28 days old and humidity in a room has stabilized, If the job is rushed, mineral fiber panels can sag due to humidity.

John - Unfortunately, manufacturers are sometimes less than forthcoming about product limitations. For example, I spent a half hour today on the website of a leading mineral fiber ceiling manufacturer looking for guidance about the relative humidity resistance of its products. The site made vague statements that some of their products have "Std" relative humidity resistance - possibly meaning "Standard" - but do not explain the statement. The site touts the company's premium product by saying it can be used in humid locations, but it does not caution against using its other products in humid locations.
